The short version: I love this watch. I got it as my daily driver, and it works perfectly in that regard, with very few and minor caveats that most likely come down to personal preference. Me: I'm not a hardcore watch guy, but I love mechanical watches, tourbillions in particular. My wallet isn't the most impressive in the land either. I wanted a watch that was affordable, easy to read, and could function as my main watch. I found myself in the fortunate position to be able to buy one of these. The look: This watch looks amazing. Right out of the box, it impresses, and I started getting compliments from day 1. It is a rather large watch, but it never looks overly large. I'm a very skinny guy, and I'm coming from a Citizen Chandler, a very small one. Every line on this watch is cleverly apportioned, and I never got the impression that it should be smaller. It looks perfect on my wrist. The dial is also very well thought out. It never looks too busy, and I was able to read it at a glance after only a day or two. I will admit, I expected more out of the super lumi-nova coating. It works, but not as well as I would have liked. The numbers don't glow nearly as well as the indicator hoops, but at the end of the day, this is a watch without a proper light. And it works well in a pinch when heading into a movie theater, or something similar. Finally, the tourbillion looks stunning. I find myself watching the mechanism work all the time. I think Xeric hit it out of the park with this one. The feel: Picking this watch up, it's instantly noticeable that it has some heft to it. It definitely lets you know that it's on your wrist and I found myself glad to take it off at the end of the first day. It doesn't take long to get used to it though, and I notice it less and less. The band molded itself to my wrist shape and broke in surprisingly quickly. The clasp system works perfectly, and it's my first time with it. It's now my favorite style, and all current and future watches will be upgraded to this immediately. It's so practical. Accuracy: I estimate that this watch gains a good 5, or maybe 10 seconds on the extreme end per day. Not bad at all. Setting the watch is easy too, the crown is snappy and responsive. Misc: Winding the watch took some getting used to. I was terrified of overwinding it and damaging the mechanism. Once I got the feel of it, that fear quickly went away. If I had one wish for the watch, it would be a power reserve indicator, or to even make it an automatic. That's not feasible though, given the watches considerable thickness and weight. I like that the only branding is the Xeric logo on the crown. It makes for a very clean and elegant look. Is it worth it? That's the big question. I won't get into the nuts and bolts about the movement, or relative value because everyone has a different perception there. I will say this: the watch checks off all my major criteria and preferences for purchasing one with a tourbillion. That's a difficult thing, specifically at this price point. It was "Buy once, cry once" for me, and I'm very glad I did. Thanks to Xeric for making a feature that was comically out of my price range a reality.
