“I was hoping for great things from the Xeric Trappist Moonphase, but to be honest I was underwhelmed. The watch design needs a lot more work. The hands are difficult to read, the date window is unreadable as its too small, and the lume, which is supposed to light up the stars, just doesn't do anything on my watch. My son also bought the same watch but in a different colour, however he has not been able to get it to work at all because one of the discs is loose. As a result of this, I'm afraid neither of our watches are getting any wrist time. It's a shame because as a watch editor I was looking forward to recommending the watch.”
“I loved the design, although it’s lighter and flimsier than I expected. The rounded crystal got scratched the first day and was covered in scratches within a week (I’ve worn watches daily for years with not a single scratch). And then 2 weeks into wearing it was no longer keeping time, and I discovered that the crown dial has fallen off totally junking the watch. I’ve been meaning to ask for a refund but I’m busy and haven’t had time (fortunately I got out my own watch to tell the time). Too bad such a nice design was so badly constructed!”
“Innovative and cool design. Based on the model I have chosen, my observations are:
- Date font is too small and dome glass makes it even harder to read the date.
- Perhaps due to the colour combo i selected, the cage and stars make the watch looks messy without contrast.
- Not sure if the stars are supposed to glow in the dark. Mine does not glow in the dark.”
“Long story short, I know it looks cool however take my word for it, it's not worth the $300. You get watch with a cool story, however you also get inferior build quality, and a overall cheaper made watch. Trust me don't believe their gimmick, just get a Seiko, I'd recommend the skx 007 or skx 009. These watches are $100 cheaper and have 10 times better quality and reliability. Not to mention here the customer service is less than lacking, it is absent. So any thing you buy here or watches.com you'll be stuck with. Choose wisely fellow horologists.”
“Was a previous owner of a xeriscope square by xeric, when I received this watch it was firstly the wrong color. I’m not sure what happened but then secondly the quality and feel of the watch was far less than my previous purchase. It was almost plastic feeling. I wrote right away as there is no phone number to call and asked for a refund. I truly felt as if my shipping should be refunded also as it was not the color I had requested but I paid shipping too and from and cut my losses.”
“Very, very difficult to read the time. Almost impossible in the dark.
(I purchased a previous XERIC watch - the Evergraph - and am very pleased with it. I don't know what went wrong this time.)”
