“The strap itself is excellently made and fits the Xeric Nasa watches well. The style also works well with these watches.
However, there is no mention of wrist size that these straps are designed for on the Xeric website. My wrists are very small (6 inches circumference) and this style of strap does not fit properly and seemingly cannot be customised to fit small wrists. Therefore, this strap is not suitable for me. However, if this strap did fit my wrist, I would be delighted with this purchase.”
“This strap is sturdy. Having worn it for about a year, only a few scratches on the locking plate show, and nowhere has the color faded.
The black color isn't exactly the one from the black cases of the Xeric watches, but it goes well with it.
But I've been having trouble with the locking system for more than once: when wearing a shirt, or another long-sleeved clothing, the locking plate often gets caught in the fabric when I'm moving around, and opens itself. On most occasions, I felt it moving on my wrist and have been able to lock it back... Until the day it happened.
The lock opened and the watch feel on the ground. Thankfully not on the glass, but on the back of the case.
And, as a result, both hands jumped out of their axis.
Useless to say that I was very unhappy, and that this mesh strap has since been locked into a drawer, never to be worn again. I put the leather strap that came with the watch in place, and went to a watchmaker to have it fixed (and, thankfully, it could be fixed without difficulty).
If you buy this strap, remember to keep an eye on your watch, and not just to keep track of time.”
“So yeah, I got the black metal mesh straps (for free by the way) when I purchased a Xeric Halograph Chrono. The straps have this super effective mechanism via which they are attached to the watch, which is as easy as pulling a lever. Literally. Plus they look really great, they shine, don’t rust (well not during my lifetime anyway) and are sorta scratch resistant unless you have a pet tiger at home.
One time, I was climbing this really tall building in China called the Pearl, to rescue my family from a group of armed thugs. As I jumped to the open window of a room which was on fire, I slipped and almost fell to my death, had my Xeric watch strap not secured me safely to a rope conveniently located near the window. This may sound suspiciously similar to Dwayne Johnson’s Skyscraper movie, but I assure you it’s true, and I am neither drunk nor high.
