“The mat is indeed very 'grippy' which makes doing downdogs much more easy. It does have a slight smell to it when you first use it, but not offensive (I did childs pose quite comfortably on it on day 1 of use) and over the week or two that I've been using the mat the smell has started to dissipate to the point it is hardly there. The mat provides enough cushion for the knees on solid surfaces, but is also thin enough to make doing leg balance poses easy due to not being to over cushioned.”
