“The kit came with all the advertised parts, but I had a few issues with it. First, good rigging practice would dictate that the eyes in the short double-eyed cable for going around the tree should have had hardeyes/thimbles in them (there's one in the end of the main cable) though when I spoke with the company rep she said that if there were thimbles, the eyes would not fit inside the turnbuckle U-bolt. Anyway, when the main cable was tightened, the eyes in the round-the-tree cable became too narrow to accommodate the short piece of wire rope that was included as a backup to the turnbuckle. I could have passed the backup cable through before tightening the main cable, but that would have left me with wire-rope-on-wire-rope wear, which is not appropriate. Related to this, the eyes of the round-the-tree cable end up being physically bent at the U-bolt of the turnbuckle when the main cable is tightened. It would have been better to include a screw-pin shackle with the kit so that the shackle pin could have been passed through pin hole in the turnbuckle U-bolt and the eyes of the round-the-tree cable placed around the body of the shackle. Also, the stop block had a note attached to it that said the rubber bumper pad had been left off of it due to a shortage, but that basically everything would be fine. Well, that's nonsense. As hard as the trolley collides with the stop block, even with a kid on the line, I feel like it would have been destroyed in pretty short order. And yes, I measured the slope correctly and left even more sag in the line than recommended because it would have been too fast otherwise. I ended up cutting up an old piece of fire hose (which also makes a great tree protector) and using it to pad the ends of the stop block. Also, some directions for the lay person on how to tighten the cable would have been nice. The only instruction has a silhouette of a dude pulling on the end to get it tight, which is not realistic unless the guy doing the pulling is The Hulk. I used a grip knot tied with parachute cord around the main cable and a nylon web tie-down strap to get it tight enough (for the reader, look up "rat tail stopper knot". On a positive note, the trolley rolls extremely well, and the best part, the kids love it. I will end up re-rigging the far end of the turnbuckle though with the new sling that the company is kindly shipping to me.”
