tl;dr For $100 more I could have got a real office chair that actually offers some form of ergonomics, that wouldn't leave me in pain at the end of the day and actually feels comfortable to sit in, and offers a reasonable warranty Instead I chose to buy this, by no means is it an AWFUL chair, but I should have at least put in some research before purchasing it. It's not a chair that you can comfortably spend 8 hours in, I've owned it for about 4 years now. Right at the warranty was about to end the gas lift begun to fail, I was busy with work at the time so I decided to tear down the chair once I got some time off and figure out what was causing it. The whole seat base was rusting, the gas lift was failing, and the wheel base and gas lift had rusted together, unable to be torn apart. Thankfully the warranty team from akracing were nice enough to replace the entire bottom half of my chair, a week outside of warranty after being told that consumer law exists and that I would be contacting the ACCC for advice. Another 6 months outside of warranty the plastic "leather" on my chair begun peeling at the end of the seat, and half way up the back, where the pillow backrest would sit (i.e rubbed off). For the price I paid, 5-10 year warranty is the standard from proper office chair companies, they offer more adjustability, more comfort and more after sales care. The only upside to this purchase is that I've learned taking a car seat design and sitting in it as an office chair is the worst decision anybody has ever made, pleather shouldn't be on a $500 chair and 10 years warranty is the standard in the industry at that price. It's given me a list of things I should avoid as I shop for a new chair now.
