After more than 20 minutes in line at a till we was offered a simple "sorry for the wait" by our new server who was less than tolerable as a server.
She ID'd me for my alcoholic drinks which was fair enough, she then asked my 14 year old daughter for ID for the paracetamol I purchased... she had just come from school and was still in uniform... I thought it was obvious after her being my daughter and showing my ID I am the one paying, but she refused to sell me the paracetamol (ironically she still sold me.the ciders...).. apparently everyone present has to have ID no matter their age... this was a joke, she is a kid! she cant even have any ID outside her school ID at her age! She insisted even a baby needs ID if present in my "group" (Aldi's definition of a family).
So note, never go to aldi with a child if you plan to get some simple paracetamol... though your good for vodka or cider.
Went down the road to tesco and laughed to the checkout clerk how pathetic it was, she found it ridiculous and even gave us a voucher for our next visit... Never going back to aldi again. Tesco got a new customer I guess. Funny they also failed all government guidelines regarding masks and distancing... what a joke.
