I visited the Aldi Store in DARTFORD 09.45 today 13.10.20.
Several customers (4) I noted on my travel round the aisles, were not wearing protective masks. 5 of the shelf fillers were not either. I raised this with the checkout person who said that they had been told not to approach any person not wearing a mask. What about the staff? I asked to speak to the manager, Richard, who had no mask either. He said that it was a Company direction not to approach customers.
I asked to take it further and was given a phone number. This connected me to a very polite man who said (and I paraphrase) that he could not defend the dangerous laxity.
These people were handling and breathing over packeted and raw goods on the shelves - possibly coating these with Covid -19 virues for everyone else to be infected by.
I am 83 and "vulnerable". Their conduct demonstrates their real care - not the dozens of notices stuck on every window. The complaint reference is A1861050.
