Having read a BHF leaflet saying they offered free collection of furniture, I phoned them to donate the quality furniture from my late mother in law's property. I was advised they would take an inventory and advise me how much they would charge me to collect the items.
I was absolutely disgusted by their attitude. I was offering them FOC furniture which later sold at a price in excess of £4000, yet they expected me to not only donate the goods FOC but also pay for them to collect it.
They need to re-word their advertising leaflets. As a charity they have lost touch with reality and now spend thousands on advertising for cash donations, yet make donating furniture difficult. Clearly they were not interested in over £4000 of furniture. Shame on BHF.
