Engine management light on car before leaving showroom Went to the Wolverhampton showroom on Sunday 10th October to test drive a Range Rover Evoque HSE dynamic lux Reg OU16 KBX I had reserved the car with £99 deposit. When a young lad was asked to accompany me on my test drive, I noticed the fuel indicator stated only 4 miles remaining before empty, I was assured it would be fine. when we got back to the showroom the fuel indicator showed 0 miles left. I wanted to pay for the car in full by debit card, I was duped to having £3000 on finance as they stated that having finance on the car the 2 year warranty I was also sold would mean the finance company would be able to put pressure on the warranty company to fix any issues that I may experience with the car. Soon after I paid £23499 by debit card two managers approached the desk where I was sitting at with the sales manager, They informed me that as they were putting a small amount of fuel in the car for me to drive home, the engine management light had come on and I would not be able to take the car home. They told me they will get it into their work shop and give it their full priority to get the issues resolved. I had to pay for a taxi £25 back home and leave the car I had just paid for that developed an engine fault before even leaving the showroom!!! I emailed the manager that sold me the car that same evening informing him I was not willing to take delivery of a car that had not even left the showroom yet and its already in their workshop! No Reply Back!!! I called next day 11th Oct 9:57am and spoke to another manager telling him the reason I wanted to cancel the purchase of the car. He took my details and informed me he would start the process and call me back to update me on the refund. At 16:32 I was forced to call the Wolverhampton showroom up as I still had not received the promised call back. I was told the manager I spoke to that morning was on another call and they would get him to call me back, I advised the person that took my call all my calls to the showroom were being recorded. 10-15 minutes later the manager called me back, He had not started the cancelation as they were "short staffed" and would call me back tomorrow around midday with an update on the full refund I was seeking. I informed the manager, all calls were being recorded, I felt I had to do this after reading the shocking reviews both on their customers review page and here on trustpilot ! It seams Carshop are dishonest and liars they also upsell products you really don't want or need. I will be asking BBC consumers program to look into this DISHONEST company so more people are wise to this shockingly bad company's practices. I will update on how I get on with my full refund! Wish I had read the reviews prior to dealing with this company! My advise would be to avoid and buy elsewhere
