The jacket we ended up purchasing was great and my daughter really feels comfortable in it -not too heavy and bulky, yet warm enough for UK weather. We also used it for skiing and it was great then too - albeit with some more layers underneath.
My main negative experience with shopping at Decathlon is the returns procedure in that I needed to take the package to the post office. Most other companies offer a Collect + service in additional to using the Post Office. Unfortunately until this changes I will probably be reluctant to purchase from them again.
