Lots of companies know how to 'stack 'em high and sell 'em cheap'. What sets a good company apart from the also-rans is its ability to exceed consumers' expectations - especially when things go wrong. And that's not my experience of Decathlon.
My first order was cancelled - several days after payment had been taken - apparently due to the item being out of stock. Decathlon's inadequate stock control system meant I was let down - and I had to source the product from an alternative supplier (which cost me an additional £50).
My second order was missing some parts. After immediately reporting the shortage I was promised the items would be sent out post-haste. A day or two later I received a huge EMPTY box from Decathlon... Further communications with the company finally produced the missing parts. There are MANY sports equipment companies in the UK that understand their customers' needs. In my experience Decathlon is not one of them. As an outdoor enthusiast I will certainly not be putting it at the top of my list of reliable companies from which to purchase sports goods...
