I am writing to let you know about the level of service from your Giltbrook store.
My wife phoned on Saturday 29th April to enquire about stock of Item 893378, yes it was available, yes in Medium, yes in Pink.
We asked if we should collect that day but were assured that it would be put in a bag with our name on and that it was OK for me to collect yesterday Tuesday 2nd May.
I left Huddersfield early to travel back to Nottingham so I could collect the jacket in time
I then spent over 1 fruitless hour at the store with 2 assistants trying to vain to find the jacket, being offered alternatives, sending photographs back and forth to my wife trying to work out which jacket she'd reserved, speaking eventually to the manager - the jacket hadn't been reserved and had been presumably sold in the meantime.
I have been assured that a replacement jacket will be posted to me free of charge so am now in the position where I have actually paid for a jacket that I actually still haven't recd but may get in 'around 7 days time'
It's surely not that difficult and hardly rocket science to place an item in a bag labelled for someone and if your staff cannot manage this they should not offer this service.
If anybody does ask me the level of service from Decathlon I'd have to say something along the lines of inept/clueless.
