I drive for Door Dash and most of the time I enjoy it. First I would like to address things missing from orders, most orders are sealed by restaurant so we have no way to see if everything is there aside from asking. I am sure you would not want people you don't know going through the food you plan to eat. Tell the restaurant to seal your order, then most of the time you will know it's their fault if something is missing. Another thing I hear a lot is we get paid and shouldn't expect a tip. We get a whole $2.50 on average to pick up and deliver an order that's within a few miles. For that $2.50 we have to use our gas to drive to store or restaurant, get out and go inside to pick up order. Then we drive to your house, park and bring you your order, then drive to next stop. If you take off gas we might make $1.50 to $2.00 when you don't tip, often less. I always accept my share of no tip orders but I don't understand why people post saying we are paid and they don't need to tip. Why should I waste my time doing the work involved and wear and tear on my car to only make a dollar or two. Most deliveries take about a half hour from recieving the order to delivering it, so I would make about $2. to $3. an hour without tips and I guarantee I would not do the job for long under those conditions. Most drivers are good people trying to supplement their income to make ends meet. We care about you and getting your food to you hot and quick. Don't punish the good drivers because you had a bad one. Turn them in to Door Dash and appreciate the good ones. Thank you
