I have successfully completed two courses: the AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting, which I achieved with distinction in June 2024, and the AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting, also with distinction in January 2025. Currently, I am studying for the AAT Level 4 Diploma in Professional Accounting to further enhance my skills and knowledge in the field. I am honored to have been shortlisted for the AAT Student of the Year Award 2025, which has motivated me to continue striving for excellence in my studies and career development. My professional journey began with a degree in Criminology and Sociology, which led to a 12-year career in the charity sector. My work primarily focused on inclusion and supporting individuals with learning disabilities. During this time, I gained significant experience in project and service management, as well as operations, which deepened my passion for making a positive impact. These experiences have been invaluable in shaping my career aspirations and personal growth. Currently, I work in Operations and Finance within the charity sector. My responsibilities include collaborating with external accountants to manage organisational accounts and taking a leading role in budgeting processes. Alongside my professional commitments, I am pursuing the AAT Level 4 Diploma in Professional Accounting to expand my expertise in finance and prepare for a more specialised role in the future. After being made redundant in a previous role, I had an opportunity to reflect on my career path and identify what I truly enjoyed. I realised that I found budgeting and finance to be particularly rewarding, which inspired me to formalise my skills through professional qualifications. My ultimate goal is to transition into a more specialised finance role and continue advancing in this area.
