I'm 19 years old and currently balancing part-time work at a care home, freelancing as a finance assistant for a remote company, and studying the AAT Level 3 course. Even with this schedule, I still find time to enjoy socialising with friends and family.
My previous experience includes a supervisor role at a bowling alley, where I was responsible for cash handling and daily financial reporting. I’m also in the process of applying to the RAF for a People Operations Officer role, which matches well with my academic strengths, career goals, and lifestyle. I’m hopeful to begin basic training by the end of the year.
Before discovering this course, I found it difficult to secure work experience when applying in person. I lacked hands-on experience and was struggling to get noticed. That’s when I came across the AAT work experience opportunity offered by e-Careers, and it stood out immediately due to the amount of support provided.
Through this program, I began voluntary finance work with a travel and tourism business, which eventually turned into a freelance position. I'm now head of the finance section for the company, where I handle responsibilities such as managing cash positions, forecasting, maintaining cash flow, producing profit and loss statements, and using Xero accounting software.
Overall, I highly recommend this course to anyone looking to gain real-world experience and kick-start a career in finance. It’s opened doors for me and will no doubt continue to create new opportunities in the future.
