I first made contact with Erasmusu on the live chat with Jorge, to discuss a 2 bedroom property in Caen for this September. I asked him when it was put on and he said 9 months ago. He then told me to message the landlord and ask if it was still available but sometimes landlords don't respond unless you book it. All was well and I thought Jorge was very honest about the situation. I asked Jorge if all fees would be refunded including the service charge to which he said yes all would be. Then I booked the property and paid for the service charge of 109euros. They have 48 working hours to accept or decline the booking, as it was a Saturday night when I booked it, I wouldn't be able to cancel the booking before Tuesday. After booking, I read the reviews on here and became increasingly concerned. However, I knew if it didn't go through I could have a full refund. Like other reviews, Erasmusu was very quick at responding when they had my money. And on Tuesday, they said they couldn't get in touch with the landlord to confirm the booking. My first email said I wanted a full refund. Alessio ignored this part of the email and gave a speech about how hard it was to find accommodation in Caen and that they can help. I sent another (several emails) telling him to give me a refund as they didn't even have any more 2 bedroom properties on their website in Caen. Again, another speech about how they can help me find accommodation, "Of course you have the option to receive the refund, you have the last word on that :)" I was shocked as I had already asked several times for a refund! And so after sending many emails after asking for a refund, it came through. MINUS the 109 euro service charge. For what service? My booking wasn't even accepted. The whole of the afternoon was spent emailing them telling them to pay back the service charge. But as reviews have said, it's radio silence now they've got my money. I also sent screenshots of their terms and conditions page which says all funds will be returned. I've given it two stars because in the end they've got my money and won't return my emails to give me a full refund. From my experience with this company, I'd approach with caution.
