Be VERY careful before using this company! I have no doubt that Erasmusu are a good company IF you get the room you try to reserve and take it. From the reviews, they seem to work well from that point. HOWEVER, be careful because the opposite results in a very bad experience. As per the requirements of the website, I paid €635 to reserve an available room, only to be told a few days later that it was not actually available. Erasmusu had already taken my money at this point. They said they would keep it whilst they looked for another room for me. This made me uncomfortable, but I had little choice. Days later, and after many emails, I told Erasmusu plainly that I had found a room with a different company (which did not take my money before actually offering me the room!), and that I no longer needed their help. After they replied to check this, I asked for a refund of my money since they had taken it for a room they had not given me, and had not provided the service I paid for. Looking back, I can’t believe they actually took all of the money and then told me the room wasn’t available. Anyhow, my emails to request a refund were ignored. I emailed again and again, and every time the refund request was completely ignored. They even emailed me offering me a flat they had found, which was far away from my desired location and with a few very blurry, bad quality photographs, asking me if I wanted them to confirm it for me. This was after I had already said very clearly that I did not need their help and wanted my money back. I asked for a refund again, and AGAIN this email was ignored. Eventually, I had to contact my bank to begin a formal procedure to get my money back. The bank found also that Erasmusu had set the €635 as a recurring payment, meaning they could take it from my bank again even though the room I reserved was NOT given to me. My bank decided to completely block Erasmusu from being able to take money from me, as they did not trust them. Once I informed Erasmusu on my decision to involve my bank, they refunded some of the money, but not all of it. They left almost €100 off as an ‘adjusted total’. The money I paid was the sum of one month’s rent in advance: there was no mention of an ‘adjusted total’ and therefore no reason for them to keep this money back. I emailed to ask about this, and no reply. My bank are continuing the formal process to retrieve my money, as Erasmusu still owe me almost €100 and should not have taken my money when the room wasn’t actually available. I hope that in time they will refund me completely; it is unfortunate that I have had to get my bank involved in formal action. I warned Erasmusu that I would write this honest review if they did not refund the whole amount, and they have not. I am sure that they are a good company if all goes well. However, this was not my experience. They took my money then told me the room was no longer available, before ignoring all of my refund requests until I was forced to get my bank involved. I am still waiting for my full refund. I would never trust or use this company again, I cannot trust someone who takes money without providing the service paid for. Very bad experience. So be very careful before using this company, they will take your money regardless of the outcome and it will take a lot of work to get any of it back.
