So sad to see that multiple other people have had the same experience I had with ERG. I booked for an engineer to fix some urgent electrical issues in my home. The engineer came out and stated the work was not doable, advised I contact my second choice engineers and told me he would contact ERG to let them know and cancel. I was charged £162 for this and after talking to their customer support was told that because I didn’t cancel beforehand (which I didn’t do because I didn’t know this engineer wouldn’t be able to do the work), I wasn’t entitled to a refund and was pointed to their terms and conditions to clarify this. I am already struggling to make ends meet and now can’t afford to get this work completed and ensure my home is safe because of ERGs practices. I’d hope during a time when so many are struggling in the UK a company would have some human empathy but not ERG.
