Excellant service given by Angus ... after extensive testing the problem wasn't solved however no faults from the technician as he tried every possible way to connect.
After he had gone I was making coffee and the (new) router connected as it should on its own with all lights as normal.
Since then I've had no trouble.
I believe now it was caused by my ISP turning off something their end,of course they will never pay my bill to cover the callouts incurred
