SCAM! DO NOT USE!!
We booked GetTransfer for an airport transfer up the mountain to Les Menuires and thoroughly regretted it!
Our first party arrived at the airport, and the driver was nowhere to be found and could not be contacted. We rang the office and were continually fobbed off – reaching a different person each time we called and were told they would have to investigate and get back to us, which they never did. We finally got through to the driver (on a Latvian number which was horrendously expensive to call with the multiple attempts) who said he was ‘delayed’ but had not bothered to tell nor us nor the office, and kept telling us ‘just 10 minutes more’. However about 1.5-2 hours later we finally found him and we were on our way.
I generally don’t write reviews, and would not have written this if it had ended there. However we had already made another booking through GetTransfer for another member of our party getting a later flight, arriving around 6 hours later.
Our driver informed us that he was due to collect this person later but due to the delay would not make it, and asked us to talk to the office to tell them. We therefore had to contact the GetTransfer office ourselves to explain and confirm who would be collecting this person (our colleague was flying at the time and unable to do so themselves), but the driver then did not answer his phone when the office called multiple times to confirm, I assume as he didn’t want to have the conversation about why he wouldn’t go - meaning they wouldn’t make any other arrangements. So we had to physically give the driver our phone so GetTransfer would make other arrangements. GetTransfer would then not confirm any further details until about an hour later when they said they didn’t know what to do, and would not be able to take our colleague! This person was arriving at 11:00pm and had no other way to get up the mountain and had no accommodation down the mountain booked.
Finally after multiple phone calls, GetTransfer said they would find another driver to take him but it would be more expensive and insisted on a PayPal payment (in addition to what we had already paid) – not allowing cash, credit card or any other kind of payment – and not letting the driver to go to the airport until we had paid in full and sent them confirmation. We had trouble getting such a payment across (and obviously also shouldn’t have had to have pay), but GetTransfer insisted on using a PayPal link – and not allowing an email address or phone number as localising information which I understand is a common scam. It had got to 11:00pm by this time and so we still had no way of getting our member up the mountain, though GetTransfer still had sent a driver to collect him or even assure he would be collected.
They are dishonest, disorganised and have a flagrant disregard for any kind of passenger welfare or any kind of commitment they’ve made – and will use a situation to extort more money if it suits them. Without a doubt the worst taxi or airport experience I have ever had -and I can’t discourage you enough from using them.
