This is possibly the worst company I have ever given my business to. When we arrived a day late to collect our pre-booked and pre-purchased car due to sandstorms (the Calima) on Tenerife, they told us that the car we had paid for was not available and that they would give us a different car.
On returning to the UK, I noticed an extra charge for nearly £90 on my credit card from Goldcar. Despite raising this with the company, they told me that I agreed to this at the pickup desk in Tenerife, which I did not. I have tried all routes to get a refund of this fee and have been unsuccessful.
In addition to this, the hire car was purchased through a cash back site and the company have not honoured the cash back, despite all of their merchant terms being met.
Goldcar use underhanded tactics to essentially steal money from you. A real cowboy company, stay well clear.
