My experience with HelloFresh has been profoundly disappointing and, frankly, concerning. I was erroneously charged for an order during a week I had explicitly skipped, indicating a significant flaw in their platform's order management or billing system. This unauthorized charge, occurring without my consent for a service I opted out of, is unacceptable.
Upon discovering this error, I immediately contacted HelloFresh to request a refund for the charge that was a direct result of their mistake. Instead of rectifying their error by processing a refund back to my original payment method, HelloFresh unilaterally decided to issue a credit to an account that I had already cancelled. This action is not only misleading but also borders on unethical. It effectively traps funds within a service I no longer wish to use and for which I was incorrectly charged in the first place.
This entire ordeal highlights a company that appears to prioritize retaining funds over transparent and fair customer service. Their process of crediting a cancelled account instead of refunding a mistaken charge demonstrates a fundamental disregard for customer autonomy and an attempt to circumvent a legitimate refund request.
I strongly advise potential customers to avoid HelloFresh. Their billing practices are questionable, and their refund policy, at least in my experience, is designed to inconvenience customers and retain funds improperly obtained. This was a misleading and unethical experience from start to finish.
