I had a horrendous driver with whom the journey was dangerous and distressing. I actually had to cut the journey short and find alternative means of travel.
Uber refused to refund, despite me very politely explaining the situation multiple times.
A refund would have cost them very little, but the refusal has left me with no faith in the company so I shall no longer use them; which considering I'm a frequent user, will cost them much more.
