I had an almost laughably bad experience with Uber customer service. It almost sounds like a tale of fiction, but I kept my phone in my pocket and it somehow placed an Uber Eats Delivery to my place. Cancelling the order as others have said means NO REFUND. I received a call from customer service and they explained if I wished to cancel the order, I would have to pay the FULL price because that was their policy. The shopper had not even begun the accidental order that was placed. I could understand if the order had actually started or it was delivered already, but to be charged the full price for literally nothing is absurd. In the end, it was only $12 they got from me thankfully. However, it really demonstrated how money grubbing they are as a company. I deleted the app immediately after the conversation. Never again will I use their app and will be using Lyft from now on. I doubt Uber customer service cares at all, which is the sad thing.
