Unable to contact customer service regard my family account and a charge made to my bank account after I add money to my uber money account for a ride my grandson scheduled and was then cancelled. On Saturday May 3rd we arranged for a uber to pick my grandson up and drop him off. Since he's a teenager I added enough money to my uber money account so that it would cover a round trip. Mind you they have my credit and debit cards both on file. The 30.00 I added to my account was taking out of my account and showed pending and the money appeared in my uber cash account. His uber was scheduled to pick him by 6:30pm-6:45pm at 6:10pm he received a text stating that his uber had been canceled due to my bank declining the payment for $10.48 (the reason my bank declined the payment is because I locked my debit card) but my card should have never been ran since there was 30.00 in our family money account which I add specifically for this ride. When we tried to contact customer support it was impossible. There was no customer service contact number. I sent an email to customer service stating the issue and didn't get a response until Sunday morning. At that point I asked to be refunded my money and also the charge was now showing up as a purchase in my bank. After 2-3 emails, I gave up and contacted my bank to dispute the charge. I have decided to cancel my uber account because this wasn't the 1st time I had a problem with uber and charges on my account. Just 2 months before this we had a similar situation happen. With this being said I do not recommend adding money to your uber money account. I don't plan on using uber again.
