DO NOT USE HOLIDAY AUTOS TO HIRE A CAR
In booking the car hire on the Holiday Autos website I took out the option
of additional insurance to cover damage repair to the car . On arrival at the
car hire company in Catania I was told that the policy would not cover repairs
and that to get damage cover I would have to purchase another policy costing 250 euros. I could not afford this and decided to cancel the hire. I was given
a copy of the Cancellation Report by the car hire company which Holiday Autos clearly received because they emailed me stating 'we are unfortunately unable to offer a refund of the deposit paid if you do not collect your vehicle at the rental desk'. Paragraph 2 of Holiday Auto's 'Cancellation and No-Show Policy' states 'If you cancel less than 24 hours in advance of pick-up, you will receive a refund minus GBP43.' The policy was cancelled less than 24 hours in advance of pick-up, therefore we were entitled to a refund of £196.60 - £43 = £153.60. There is also a software fault (deliberate?) in the Holiday Autos website which makes it impossible to log a complaint via the website. Again, DO NOT USE HOLIDAY AUTOS TO HIRE A CAR
