When arriving at the destination airport I was advised Goldcar that the Damage Waiver insurance bought via Holiday Autos was not recognised and I would have to pay an additional €300 Euros. I contacted Holiday Autos who advised not to purchase and rent an alternative car instead and that they would refund the total original booking plus any additional costs incurred. Great service I thought... that was until I came to request the refund. Still waiting 6 months later, only response I have received from the company was that "we are not able to proceed any further with your case on this occasion". Without any explanation and despite me having an email from them confirming the above agreement. I am now over £400 out of pocket - I would have been better to have paid the initial charge at the airport (as it appeared many others were having to do!) Please be aware of this total lack of service!! Why are they still selling insurance that there own rental companies will not accept??
