I called Holiday Autos as I am 24 years old and to hire a car in Ireland you are classed as a young driver so an additional price is added, therefore, talking to someone over the phone should have made this easier. The man I spoke with on the phone was very helpful although very hard to understand on the phone which made it a very lengthy 45-minute phone call and the company he recommended and that I ultimately booked through was a complete joke. The company they booked my hire vehicle was called Easirent is a completely unprofessional and disgraceful company. I was told as I am 24 years old I would need to leave a 1800euro deposit by the man I spoke with on the phone. On arriving in Dublin I was told the law had changed the day before I arrived and I would need to leave a 2500euro deposit. I received no email or notification informing me of this and I booked the car 3 weeks in advance. They then told me I would have to take out insurance with them... long story short they wanted 500euros with a 2500eruo deposit to hire a car for 4 days.... I was lucky I wasn't taken for a mug and left to hire a car from another company. I lost a £30 deposit I put down to hold the car and it cost me £45 in phone bills to call them. If you are reading this dont waste your time with this company its not worth the hassle when you are trying to have a stress free time on holiday. I have lost a total of £75 for a car that I never hired.
