I decided to try holiday autos for the first time on 5th July 2019 in order to hire a car for 16th July in Alicante airport Spain.
I only wish I had read all the negative reports before using this company! I proceeded with the booking and booked with a company called InterRent in Alicante terminal. I thankfully did not pay any money up front. I received an email from holiday autos saying that my booking is still being processed and I would receive confirmation soon.
Ok then decided to check reviews about InterRent as I hadn't heard of them before. Every single review warned customers to stay clear, avoid, don't use etc etc.!!! I panicked and went with my gut. I immediately went back to holiday autos on line and tried to cancel my booking ( which was free up to the day before travel). It would not let me cancel!! So I took initiative and phoned my credit card company to explain what happened. Told them I didn't want this company taking my money as I didn't want to use them. She blocked the transaction, cancelled my card and ordered me a new card much to my relief. I could have saved myself a lot of hassle if only I had checked the reviews first! I decided to use Record go in Alicante terminal as they got excellent reviews. Incidentally it is now 8th July (2019) and i still havent heard a peep from either holiday autos or InterRent ( with one week to go to my travel date!!!) So I'm glad I acted quickly and used another tried and trusted company!
I would definitely avoid using holiday autos and InterRent at all costs. Very poor and seemingly unreliable service!!!
