Until a few weeks ago, I used to purchase all of my items from Home Depot. However, they have recently implemented a new tax policy that has made the purchasing process more complicated. Their online system is not functioning properly, and they do not provide prompt responses. When I visited the pro-section of the store, I was directed to complete all of the necessary paperwork online. These additional steps are frustrating and time-consuming, as if I am working for them.
I took my IL state tax exemption number to the store, but it didn't work. I've heard from workers that this problem is happening to many other contractors as well.
In the end, I gave up and returned to MENARDS, where I don't have this problem. Unfortunately, these stores are far from my business, but I have to get used to buying everything at once again. Home Depot has become the store where I buy simple things that I forget or need during my work. It appears that many contractors, like myself, are now visiting MENARDS more frequently. It seems that I am not alone in experiencing this issue.
