About a 6 weeks ago or a little more I received a $20 coupon in the mail from HD if I spend $100. I had just spent over $400 on fencing, concrete and some plants. So I decided to go buy things for my law, bug spays and things like that would last me for the season. I went through the self check out and one of your employees helped me as I wasn’t sure how to apply the coupon to my purchase. My purchase was only $93 I was advised so I went and bought something else for $10 to bring my purchase to $103. He then scanned my coupon and I paid my bill. I didn’t look at the receipt until I got home and my receipt showed that the coupon was scanned but it never deducted the $20 coupon from my purchase. I didn’t worry about it because I am always at HD buying something and figured I would show it to the store my next trip in. I was out of town for a few weeks and went in and showed my receipt to the return dept or customer service dept. He tried to make it right and could not figure out how to credit my account $20 and told me that he thought it would deduct off of my bill as I paid with my HD card. The bill came to my house a week or so later and the $20 was not deducted. Still no problem as I shop at HD a lot and figured my next trip in I would show them again what had happened and yet again he could not figure out how to credit my account the $20. After 10-15 I left as my wife was waiting in the car and I thought it would be fast. A few days later I went back again and by now we were friends as he was a very nice man so he called the manager and the manager told him to call someone which he did. They could not figure out how to give me a credit so he called the manager again and to be honest he didn’t want to deal with the issue. During this whole process I was never, not once rude with any of your employees. I am 69 years old and have shopped with HD almost exclusively since my early 20’s when I was in the building trade. I have probably spent 75-100 k with HD over the years. Last year I purchased carpet from your Twin Falls, ID store at around 4K and I have been in 3 times to get a $20 credit!! REALLY!!!! I will continue to shop HD as I am not a spiteful man but I will give more business to Lowe’s as they are closer anyway. I didn’t write this to get anyone in trouble as the Service Dept was very friendly but really 3 trips to not get a $20 credit when I have the receipt to show that the credit was scanned but never given. Wow I was a Branch Manager for almost 30 years of a business and my customers were the reason I got a pay check and they were King. I lost money many times to make things right with them if they felt my team had made a mistake or wronged them in any way and to be honest we kicked butt by doing the right thing. So you know I could care less about the $20 now it just is something that I feel you should know as a man who ran a successful business for many, many years Sincerely, Scott Parr Twin Falls,ID
