I had a terrible experience shopping on-line with JC Penny. I bought $50 worth of clothing and within 1-2 minutes I decided I did not want it and tried to cancel it. JC Penny's on-line system would not allow me to cancel it. On the screen was the message: "We're sorry, it looks like we can't cancel your item(s). If you need further assistance, please call us at 1-800-322-1189." The telephone line was closed for the evening so I called the next day. The representative said that the order could not be cancelled. She said that the customer can cancel an order within 30 minutes of checking out online. However, I tried to cancel it within 1-2 minutes and wasn't able to. Returns must be made in-person or by UPS and the customer has to pay for return shipping.
