“I purchased a comforter set and am really unhappy with the way the comforter is made it is solid blue on one side and white with embroidery blue bows . The blue side looks like it was made with old fabric and it is pilling and only been on my bed 2 days . The filling inside is bunched up so it doesn’t lay flat . I paid $175.00 I am extremely disappointed and don’t think I will purchase anything from them again .”
“I was penalized for paying my bill early My bills due on the 1st through the 5th I pay my bill on the 30th or the 29th and I was charged a late fee which equal over $300. This is not for paying late mind you this is for paying early I paid JCPenney's what I owe them and cut the card up how do you penalize a customer for paying his bills early insane”
“I bought a Hamilton Beach Big Mouth Juice Extractor September 13th finally got a chance to use it and was unhappy with it if I hadn't expose of the box I would of sent it back”
“It’s incredible that you don’t have staff not even to make the checkout, what’s the goal keeping people in huge lines…this is quite disrespectful, deorganized then you ask why people is going to buy to another stores….👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎 plus this place don’t allow posting picture kiddos JC Penny you know very well what you’re doing!!!!!!!!!!!”
“Used to be the only store I shopped at for Big & Tall, but their pricing has become so dishonest, I can't trust them anymore. They offer merchandise at sale price, but at checkout discount disappears. You insert coupon code and the "regular" price inflates, so even with the coupon the cost goes up further. Same in store: I bought a bag of Jelly beans at checkout that were marked 50% off - but no price. Looking at receipt I see I was charged $25 for the bag (receipt said reg price was $75!!!)”
“I would give a negative star if I could!
Received a coupon for $10 off a purchase of $10 or more.
Went to the store and first tried to use it on a clearance item that I did expect it not to work. So I then presented the clerk with a piece of women's apparel--would not work. Item was on sale but the coupon said it could be used on sale items. No.
Next I gathered a men's apparel item and it was also denied.
Never wasting my time again.
Our local store looks like a thrift store to begin with and is very dirty. All sales people are dressed like they are truly in a thrift store.
What happen to the nice clean plesant department store that I used to bring my daughters to for all their clothing?”
“First time shopper and will be the last time. Bought a set of ring and within a month the diamond fell off and bought lifetime care plan, was told when you open a credit card through them it will show all the purchase including the lifetime care plan, so came to the store without the receipt, staff did not even offer to help just look my number up through the computer and told me that I have to go back home and get the receipt before they can do anything, understand usually it is the process but company should not telling customer to not bring anything if their system has errors, instead went home brought the receipt and decided to return both of them staff was rude and did not even offer to help and when you trying to explain why to return it, they are both impatient, rude, and unprofessional. I have to work away to call customer service and per my hubby they are so rude and trying to digging into the bag I brought to the store!!! So horrible experience with the staff I worked with today”
“So if you place an order with JC Penny you have to track it down yourself and schedule delivery. So much for service. Take your money and leave you hanging with the Hub GRoup.”
“I have been a customer of jcpenny for over 25 years. I’ve had a credit card with them for 10 to 15 years. Always made my payments on time. They increased my credit over 3000 just before I made my payment. My debit card. Was compromised so I got a new one. I thought I had to change the numbers when I made my payment. I tried 2 times it didn’t work I figured out my info on cr card was good so I made my payment. About a week later I got a notice that they were canceling my card. I was floored. I called. The only thing they said they could do was have me reapply for a new account. No. I’ve had this for several year. Not putting an inquiry on my credit report. Guess I will not be shopping at pennys any more. I’ll check out kohls.”
“First time shopper last time shopper. Management was no help. I called news media. When I send your jewelry out for repair. Two times. Y'all try to make me feel like it's my fault. Worst store I've ever been in. Store managers named Jeff Jeffrey. We're talking Rockwall store. Save your money go to Belks. Still don't have my jewelry. I get tired of hearing that word I don't know.”
“I am very disappointed with JCPenney’s recent promotion and their customer service. The promotion advertised that bath towels, kitchen towels, and rugs were “Buy One, Get Two Free.” However, the website was not clear in explaining that you must place a quantity of three in your cart in order to receive the two free items. I ordered one towel, expecting the promotion to apply, but only received one.
When I reached out to customer service, I asked if a supervisor could assist me and honor the promotion since the instructions were unclear. Instead, I was told, “Sorry, we can’t help you—you should have put in three.” I found this response unhelpful and dismissive. A company as large as JCPenney should be more considerate and accommodating to its customers, especially when their own advertisement lacks clarity.
Because of this poor experience, I will be returning the towel and will no longer be shopping with JCPenney. If they want to retain loyal customers, they need to improve both their advertising transparency and their customer service support.”
“Insulting, rude customer service. Let me list the remarks: the beauty parlor operator said I look like " Prince Valiant" after she gave me a short haircut, so I cancelled my card in 2024. In 2025, I reapplied and decided not to hold a grudge. I got my new card and bought sheets. The sheets were like sandpaper but Penney's refused to give me a refund or exchange. They said, "what are we supposed to do with these, we can't resell them this way. Even the manager wouldn't give me an exchange. Although it was supposedly 100 percent cotton, it didn't feel like it. I am a seamstress and know quality sewing. The fit was terrible and stitching was extremely poor.”
“1 checkout desk available at the back of the store with one cashier and the line was long. I questioned the cashier why there were not more cashiers at the registers and was told they had a person quit and cannot find anyone to work. No wonder everyone shops online, malls are dying breed. What is happening with everyday life?”
“Placed an order and after the order was placed I received a coupon on the same pair of jeans that I could have saved $9.99. Customer service would not apply the coupon or even give me a store credit. Makes me want to shop elsewhere. Very unsatisfied with company and customer service.”
“⚠️ WARNING: Do NOT Buy from Frye & Co. – Cheap Knock-Offs and Terrible Service
I recently purchased a pair of boots from Frye & Co., mistakenly thinking I was buying from the iconic Frye brand known for its craftsmanship. What a disappointment.
The boots I received were shockingly poor in quality—cheap materials, uncomfortable fit, and clearly stamped Made in China. They looked nothing like the premium leather boots Frye is famous for, and the quality didn’t even come close to justifying the price tag. It felt like I had paid top dollar for something that should be sitting in a bargain bin.
To make matters worse, Frye & Co. charged me over $12 just to return the boots. Most reputable companies offer free returns, especially when customers are misled by branding. It’s insulting to be nickel-and-dimed after such a disappointing purchase.
This company is clearly trying to cash in on the Frye name while cutting corners at every level. The experience left a bad taste in my mouth, and I will never purchase from Frye & Co. again. If you’re looking for authentic, well-made boots—avoid this company and shop directly from The Frye Company instead. Frye & Co. is nothing more than a knock-off operation hiding behind a trusted name.”
“I went in for a haircut and I took a picture of what I wanted. It was nothing like the picture. It is so short I can’t use a curling iron on it. I will never go back again. I paid $42.00 for the cut plus gave the girl a $10.00 tip”
“A fantastic place to shop for a wide variety of quality items. Excellent selection of clothes, home goods, and accessories. Everyone is just so friendly and helpful there.”
