I am very disappointed with JCPenney’s recent promotion and their customer service. The promotion advertised that bath towels, kitchen towels, and rugs were “Buy One, Get Two Free.” However, the website was not clear in explaining that you must place a quantity of three in your cart in order to receive the two free items. I ordered one towel, expecting the promotion to apply, but only received one. When I reached out to customer service, I asked if a supervisor could assist me and honor the promotion since the instructions were unclear. Instead, I was told, “Sorry, we can’t help you—you should have put in three.” I found this response unhelpful and dismissive. A company as large as JCPenney should be more considerate and accommodating to its customers, especially when their own advertisement lacks clarity. Because of this poor experience, I will be returning the towel and will no longer be shopping with JCPenney. If they want to retain loyal customers, they need to improve both their advertising transparency and their customer service support.
