Third issue with my LG French door refrigerator and the linear compressor. Initially worked through Best Buy/Geek Squad for replacement of compressor and at that time, they had certified LG specialists who did the work. This time, calling Geek Squad for same issue (5 yrs later), they did not inform me that I had to deal with LG directly. Of course that was 6 days later (with no refrigerator and total loss of food) and then had to call LG and schedule another appointment which took 3 more days. So now it's 9 days and did get compressor replaced but had to cover for labor which was over $600. LG refused to compensate for lost food because "it's not in our warranty policy. Moral of story is I would not recommend LG refrigerators with this linear compressor. Other companies tried it and discontinued using it. Regarding food spoilage program, no where in my original packet of info does it spell out details regarding this, so no compensation unless there is a warranty covering labor and 6 days must pass with the customer being without a refrigerator!!
