Never using Opodo again - AVOID this company!
I booked return flights from ATH to MLO through Opodo. I received booking confirmation by email and the Olympic Airlines booking reference number. I flew ATH to MLO fine, but was refused boarding on the return trip (MLO - ATH) - the check-in staff stating they couldn't find any booking in my name. I was therefore not able to board the flight. I was not offered any alternative flights and all the other flights from MLO were fully booked. I then missed my connecting flight from ATH to LGW the same day. I then had to re-route in order to get home. In addition to the mental stress and anxiety caused by this situation, I also paid for a taxi to the port, ferry to Santorini, bus to the airport, replacement flight to the UK and train from the airport to make the trip home - all additional costs to what I would have paid if I had been able to board the flight I had booked and paid for.
When I called the helpline a few days after this incident, I was told it was the airline's fault - so then contacted the airline. They have said there wasn't a return flight booked in my name - so the fault lies with Opodo.
I have spent the past six weeks trying to find out what went wrong with the booking - but Opodo are yet to offer any help, a refund or compensation - a terrible company!
