I was able to specify exactly the computer I wanted after waiting a few weeks for the right parts to be available. I was given a date when to expect this, after which I would be able to order. In fact, I was able to order a day or two before that date.
Everything proceeded smoothly from that point, with frequent updates on progress.
So I now have a computer which is just right.
