After a review of the website and a chat with a neighbour who has a similar-sized cocker spaniel, I ordered a harness for my young cocker last week and it arrived very quickly.
It fits very well (once adjusted) and seems very soft and comfortable for him. It's been wet but I haven't washed it yet. It hasn't stopped him pulling on the lead (that's in-progress training) but at least he seems less likely to hurt himself.
I like the fact it's modular so it's easy to put on and one piece can be up-sized if he grows more.
