The vets all said our tall, athletic dog would need surgery to correct a torn CCL, with months of recovery where she would need to be kept calm and mostly still. The idea of such an active animal being kept still for months of recovery, losing all that muscle mass, just didn’t sit right with us. We bought the posh knee brace and did their recommended therapy and supplements, and let our dog choose her activity level. After about 6 months our dog was walking normally, but still favoring that leg a little when she sat down. It’s now been a year, and she is as good as new! We still give her a hip and joint supplement just to try to mitigate any future arthritis, but to look at her you would never know she had that injury.
