Don't know if all the conveyancers in this outfit are as similar but on my experience, don't go near! It felt like our case was being given only superficial attention. As an example, Enquiries were sent to the managing agent but were not chased in two and half weeks, possibly because my conveyancer went on holiday; a fact that only came to light when I insisted on speaking to the group supervisor. I had to get involved and expedite it myself. A more serious example of the appalling service we received was the following: The purchaser's solicitor informed my conveyancer by email, early in the process that there was a defect in the lease deed of variation. This was overlooked by my conveyancer for six weeks only to be picked up days before exchange of contracts. Discussions on the phone (on a Thursday afternoon) made it clear that this could be the cause of a major delay. Emails were sent to Land Registry to see if it could be rectified, and also to the purchaser's solicitor to see if the defect could be accepted. This was very stressful and I would have hoped to be kept informed of developments. As it happened, I was not contacted at all and finally called on the following Wednesday to complain to the conveyancer’s manager. Actually, I was fortunate in that the Purchaser’s solicitor had copied the agent in on their email reply (which they had sent to the conveyancer the very next morning) which said they were willing to accept the defect. The agent thankfully forwarded it to me, but if they hadn’t, I would have been left to stew for the entire weekend and days afterwards wondering if the sale was going to be able to proceed. ID checks which had apparently been accepted earlier in the process were suddenly found to be lacking, again a day or so before exchange. This resulted in me having to spend hours on the phone whilst away on holiday, trying to organise documents to be sent. I could mention other lapses but there is no point. I find it difficult to understand how a case can be given such scant attention throughout, unless the conveyancer is dealing with a huge number of cases concurrently, meaning that each gets say 15 minutes a week. I have been through the conveyancing process many times and this has been the absolute worst and most stressful without doubt.
