This is great rack. It's heavy, so it's not trivial to add and remove from my hitch. Attaching four bikes at the same time can be tricky based on the size and types of bikes. But once they're on the rack: YES! They're stable. They can be locked up. And swinging open the bikes so you may access the rear gate is pretty easy. It works.
