I HATE that 'dusty' taste you get from most pea proteins, so when I saw that Radix's Plant Protein DIAAS Complex 1.30 was a mix of Yellow Pea Protein and Brown Rice Protein I thought I'd give the unflavoured variety a go as I'm finding it quite hard to eat enough protein on a mostly plant-based, low carb diet.
Last night I made protein powder mini waffles with just protein powder, yoghurt, egg, a pinch of salt, vanilla essence, baking powder and almond milk, topped with yoghurt and blueberries and they were DELICIOUS. No dusty mouth feel detected.
This morning I made a smoothie with almond milk, mixed berries, yoghurt, soaked cashews and the unflavoured protein powder and although I could detect that there was protein powder in it I could actually get it down without gagging. Will try some vanilla essence next time to see if that improves the flavour.
Will def be making some breakfast muffins with this and will def be making the waffles again.
