Like probably all kiwis, I started out using a competitors product in the freeze dried meal market and the novelty of the food type soon ran out and everything just always seemed to taste like dried onion, frozen vege mix, and wet cardboard. I tried a few of the MRE style meals instead but just couldnt get behind them and didn't think the extra weight added any benefit. I then tried Radix on a bit of a whim back in like version 3 or 4 and it was a revelation. The flavours were actually good, the texture surprisingly enjoyable and it really looked like they put a lot of effort into getting wholesome, balanced, whole food ingredients into their products. I have kept with them ever since and when I lose the path and try other food I always find my way coming back to their meals. Yes it is more expensive than some other types of food but I really find their nutritionally balanced meals a great base to plan my food around when out hiking and camping.
