This company is terrible at handling claims. After approval of a claim, they failed to process my payments on multiple occasions. Every time I’d call in to get an update, the rep would place me on hold to try and connect me with my case manager but somehow they could never get them on the phone.
When I finally spoke to a rep about a denial on the extension of my STD when I was diagnosed with postpartum depression, the rep mentioned that my depression wasn’t severe enough. In other words, the state deemed my depression severe enough to extend my disability, but it was not severe enough for sedgewick because severe depression would include “loss of memory” and that wasn’t stated on the providers visit notes.
She stated that CA would approve disability for anything and anyone.
