***** YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED, READ ALL***** ON 12th August 2020 i purchased an air conditioning unit and it was delivered the next day, so far so good, that same evening i unpacked the item plugged it in and within a very short time the unit was turning its self on and off, and also seemed quite noisey. With the above happening i immediately removed the faulty item and repackaged it back up for a return to them. I then emailed the company and informed them of the problem and said i wanted to return the faulty item and need a returns label as the item is faulty the return costs are down to the supplier. (I attached an image of the item repackaged up in this email) I then get an email from sgs engineering asking me to send them a video of this item showing the fault. I emailed them back saying the item is already repackaged up and as the item is faulty i or anyone else would not be plugging the item back in for a video, as it could cause injury or death to the person plugging it in, or could cause damage to my property, and asked again for a returns label as i wish to return this faulty item for a full refund. After sending the above email i then decided to put a PayPal claim in as at this early stage i was all ready having problems getting a returns label. Sgs engineering did not reply at all to the PayPal claim until the very last day they had to respond, and this contact was made by them to me by direct email (not through PayPal) saying they would have a courier collect the item at a convenient time and said they would collect it Monday 31st August 2020. The above date was not convenient so i emailed asking for another date and also a returns label to be attached to the package, the response i got was you dont need a label, so i emailed again saying the package needs to be tracked, so it needs a label with a barcode, the return email from sgs engineering said, no you do not need a label. At this point i then asked for a copy of the confirmation for the collection of the package which was now being collected on 1st September 2020, which they sent me by email. On Tuesday 1st september 2020 the courier arrived to collect the package but unfortunately he could not take it as it had no label on the package. I then emailed sgs engineering and they said a courier would collect it on Wednesday 2and September 2020, and guess what THEY DID collect it that day they arrived and atatched the label they bought with them and then scanned the barcode on to there system. (I took photos of the label and the package as it was loaded onto the van) Sgs engineering signed for the return package on Friday 4th September 2020. I heard nothing from them until i contacted PayPal by telephone to ask what was happening as I've not yet had any outcome of my PayPal claim, they at PayPal sent me a link to send in further information showing the tracking number of the package, which i sent to them immediately. I then finally receive an email from sgs engineering on the 23rd September 2020 saying a refund will be in your account with in the next 5 to 7 working days. The PayPal claim was finally settled in my favour on the 29th September 2020 for the full amount of £298.00. I would never ever ever recommend this company to anyone at all they have been a total nightmare and not helpful in any shape or form when the problem arose, I had to wait 48 days or 1 month 17 days to get my money back and also reported them to there local trading standards. Basically it's companies like this why i always use PayPal to pay, that way if you have any problems you put a PayPal claim in straight away, dont be fooled by them, put a PayPal claim in straight away.
