DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. ONCE YOU BUY IT YOU OWN IT.
I placed my first order with Steinmart.com on June 21th. One of the items I purchased was a battery powered wine opener. This was for a gift as I already have the same one I ordered. When I put batteries in the new one, it wouldn’t work. I took the removable battery cartridge and placed it in my own wine opener and it worked just fine. I then placed my old battery cartridge in the new one and it also wouldn’t work with old one. So obviously the new one was defective. I called Steinmart and told them I shouldn’t have to pay to return a defective product and they agreed. They said they were sending me a UPS return label but that it was coming from UPS so it could take five business days. I waited and then called again with the same request. I waited 5 days again with no result. I called again – they told me my address must not be right (that’s absurd but I had them send to my husband’s email) again no label after 5 business days. Finally on July 17th I called requested a refund. I was put on hold for 2 minutes and told I would have my refund in a few days. It’s now been one week and no refund. I can only assume they’re failing and no longer care about their customers. I am going to dispute the amount on my credit card.
