I had booked this car as a 74 year old with enjoy travel and the cheapest option was SurPrice. On arrival at Chania Airport I was told I had to pay 140 euros as I was over 70. I had no option but to pay this or not take the car. I was told that this was a government requirement. My terms and conditions said that I had no more to pay. SurPrice told me that they had me down as a 50 year old. ( I wish ) I could find no record of any Greek government charge for over 70s. This is to my mind an obvious scam. Also the car I was given, a Skoda was old and covered in scratches and dents, with burns in the seats. The engine was not fit to drive on the hills of crete, and you even had to change down the gears on the highway. Avoid this company and rent from a nationally recognised company. You've been warned
