Surprice Car Rental in Orlando, Florida gave us the worst customer service possible. We booked our vacation through Expedia. When choosing a minivan, there weren’t many options left since we booked only a month before traveling in the height of vacation season. We chose a Surprice, they were priced the same as the one other company offering a mini van at that time. When we arrived at the airport, we called the number listed for a pick up. The person on the phone said they would be at the airport to pick us up in 12 minutes. 15 minutes came and went so we called back, which is when they told us it would be at least 45 minutes because the car they had saved for us had not been returned by the previous user yet. I was annoyed at them telling us one thing and not just being honest. When I asked the guy if I should cancel, he said I could but I shouldn't because he could make me a "deal" when we got there, whatever that meant. We waited inside the airport for an hour, and called again to check in, they said someone would be there soon, and they arrived in about 10 minutes. We were driven to the rental car location, where the minivan we reserved was still not there. It was mentioned that according to the car tracker, the people using the minivan were at lunch. We went inside to at least get checked in. The guy behind the counter asked for our itinerary number through Expedia, we gave it to him and he said he needed to see the email Expedia sent, which was a hassle and he couldn't explain to us why it had to be the original, whatever, we found it. Then, he started upselling us on Toll Road packages and said we would have to pay at least $25 a day in tolls and that’s the package we should choose. I'm sorry BUT $25/ day?! We told him we had just visited Orlando in 2024 and the most we paid a day was $5. So, he set that conversation aside and asked for our car insurance information. We needed a specific declaration page, which took forever to find. A basic insurance card and breakdown of our current insurance would just not suffice. We called our insurance lady at home and she sent it over. We showed it to him and he said our insurance WAS NOT ENOUGH. We have a top tier, full coverage, no accident on our record State Farm policy. That is when my husband and I lost it. We were done being up sold on everything. We said cancel it all, we're calling an uber. These people are only in it for the money grab. A manager who was in the building must have overheard, and told the guy to give us a discounted toll road package and to allow us to use our insurance. Wow, what a surprise, we were just being duped. We gave in, in order to get my husband’s 80 year old parents and young daughter to the resort. No vehicle walk through, no apology for any of it. We were not the only people in the lobby with major issues, that was on pick up an return of the vehicle. I will never recommend using this company. Pick a reputable, well-known company that offers pick up and drop off directly at the airport. Trust me!
