A local handyman tried to help with rehanging our shower doors; failed, and was reluctant to take £12 for his time. We need the professionals! I was away, so my son called "Local Plumbers" for help with the doors. No rush, can call when convenient. Pleasant guy came, worked with my son's help for 30/40 minutes, sadly without success. Billed for £150...after a vehement phone protest, a discount of 50% was offered. My contact was a letter repeating a "discount" to £75; and threatening proceedings. No call out charge claimed. Paid reluctantly to avoid further stress. So, almost a week of my pension for an abortive result. The rate given for plumbers is £40/£60. Nice work, if you can get it.
